Blog

You might be interested in basement waterproofing for your home, and you might have started out by looking into exterior waterproofing. After all, you might have heard that this is the best option for waterproofing your basement. However, it's not your only option. Interior waterproofing for your basement is something else that you can look into, and it might actually be your best option. These are a few top signs that interior basement waterproofing is actually the choice that you should go with.

You're On a Budget

Protecting your home from water damage and foundation issues is probably very important to you, but you could be concerned about how much money you're going to have to spend. This is a valid concern, of course. If you're on a tight budget, you should know that interior basement waterproofing is almost always significantly more affordable than exterior basement waterproofing. Of course, if you'd like to be sure, you can always ask a waterproofing contractor for a quote for each type of waterproofing.

You're Concerned About Your Landscaping Being Damaged

One part of exterior waterproofing that you might not be looking forward to is the part where a deep trench has to be built all the way around the perimeter of your home. If you have invested a lot of time and money into landscaping your property, then you could be worried about how damaging this can be. If this is something that you are truly concerned about, then you may want to find out more about interior basement waterproofing. After all, this will not be disruptive to your landscaping at all.

You're Hoping to Get the Project Done More Quickly

You may want to protect your home, but you could be worried about how long the process will take and how disruptive it will be for you and your family. Typically, interior basement waterproofing can be done a lot more quickly, so you might see it as a better choice if you're hoping to get the project done more quickly.

Moisture Hasn't Been a Major Issue in Your Basement

If moisture has been a major issue in your basement, then you will probably want to look into exterior waterproofing so that you can make sure that you fight this problem in the best and most effective way possible. If you haven't really had moisture issues in your basement but just want to be proactive and prevent these problems from being an issue in the first place, on the other hand, you may find that interior basement waterproofing services will actually be sufficient.

Restarting After A Hurricane

I never thought much about natural disasters when I was living in the middle of the country, but relocating to the coast brought the threat of hurricanes. Some helpful and reassuring damage contractors managed to save our beloved home, despite all the wind and water damage left behind by the hurricane. Now I spend my spare time advocating for families that need help with storm damage so they get the best results.
